the perfect side...

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. The side that was full of stress and seemingly endless to do lists. If only I didn't waste hours yesterday planning my imaginary wedding!

I still gave it my best today and rushed around trying to get things accomplished. I finished writing another chapter today. Check.

I took a stroll through Barnes & Nobles to find a new book. Walking around B&N always calms me down. I picked up Slouching Towards Bethlehem by Joan Didion

and Letter to My Daughter by Maya Angelou.

I LOVE this post on books btw. I hope my apartment will look like this one day. Black cat and all. *dream

I met my two loves afterwards for some Pio Pio chicken, 3 pitchers of sangria, and some unfortunate fla(h)n. Or you can rhyme it with Ann, the way Miss Brit pronounces it. : )

We licked our plates clean 10 seconds after the waiter brought it over and actually ordered another round of food.

My tummy is filled with (an excessive amount of) food and my heart is all warm fuzzy with love for good friends and belly laughs.

Earlier, I had to stop by Sephora to buy 100% natural lip gloss for the wedding because I'm allergic to everything else. I was supposed to get a free gift for a primer which I also needed but they ran out. The cashier girl was so nice and gave me some free samples, enough to make me pretty for the wedding. Again, I was all warm fuzzy for small acts of kindness from a stranger.

After dinner, I stopped by a bar in Time Square with Tim to see some of his friends. I didn't stay too long, and while I was in the neighborhood, I decided to stop by NG's work. I didn't stay there for long either. I was just popping by to say hi since it was close to the subway. When I got home I got a text from him that read:

I had such a shitty day today but then you came by for one minute and all of a sudden I feel 1000 times better.

It's the small things, isn't it?

I'm getting back into bed, on the perfect side.

I'm glad I'm not alone in imaginary wedding planning. I can't wait for the deets on yours. My newest is a spring wedding found a barn, near a lake!daffodils, BBQ beef sandwiches, sweet tea in mason jars- all the southern works!
